WHY A CHAMPIONSHIP IS IMPORTANT..

The conformation of a dog refers to its overall structure and appearance. Dogs come in many different shapes and sizes. Having such varied conformation is one of the many fascinating things about dogs. However, ensuring that a dog is bred to have moderate, and not exaggerated, conformation is important.

Also consider that the dog's movement is evaluated as part of it's breed standard, meaning most Show dogs are structurally sound. Then think about how a stranger (the judge) must put their hands all over the dog including opening the mouth, the dog must be mentally sound to allow this !

There are no guarantee of show dogs always producing the best tempered and healthiest offspring but, it sure does increase the chances  when your breeder cares enough to make the extra effort !
